Attorney Jeff Alter
Jeff Alter, through his firm, Alter Family Law, focuses almost entirely on family
law cases.
He is committed to every one of his clients as well as his profession. He has
been a member of the Bar since 1997. He belongs to the Colorado Bar
Association (CBA), Arapahoe County Bar Association, and Denver Bar Association.
Within the CBA, Jeff is a member of the Family Law Section and Litigation
Section.
Jeff started focusing exclusively on Colorado divorce and Colorado family law matters in 2006. He has regularly participated in family law education as well as social and professional functions with local family law attorneys and judges. He's drafted premarital, marital and post-marital agreements, mediated and negotiated settlements, litigated pre-trial, trial and post-trial matters, and has provided consultation and research in well-settled and unsettled areas of family law. He also participates with a select group of family law attorneys who share professional opinions in a collegial environment in order to better serve their clients.
Jeff understands that although many family law cases have similarities, they are also unique to the individuals and circumstances involved. He firmly believes that strong representation can come only through being fully prepared as well as keeping clients informed.
Jeff has served as a law clerk to various judges, and has published legal articles and annotations as well as contributed to several annotated state statutes, state legal encyclopedias, the annotated U.S. Code, and various online publishers of legal information.
